It was in honour of her extraordinary beauty that Lubin created then a perfume which marked the decade: a very chic perfume, sparkling and fresh, evoking the cocktail in fashion that year in Paris.

PARISIAN JOIE DE VIVRE OF THE BELLE ÉPOQUE
Grisette: she slips through the crowded streets on nimble feet with her head held high, a slim, fleeting figure that is the very image of Bohemian Paris. With her rosy cheeks and innocent gaze, she is hurrying to meet her lover, but Grisette is already thinking of another, dreaming wistfully of a new romance. Their first kiss beneath that awning sealed a promise truer than any other vow. Citrus notes of grapefruit and bergamot give way to a simple bouquet of Moroccan and Bulgarian roses. Discreet heart notes of orris oil are cloaked in incense and hints of cedar wood with touches of musk and amber melt into the scent of Madagascan vanilla absolute.

The beautiful Ottoman spy laughed when she saw the small crystal bottle that had been created for her. It featured an embellished elephant, an allusion to the verse of Valmiki’s Ramayana, because they believed her to be an Indian princess. Spiritual and multilingual, Kismet encouraged the mystery surrounding her origins. She reigned supreme over the Paris soirées of the Roaring Twenties for a time, then one day slipped away, never to be seen again. All that remained was the memory of her intoxicating scent, the perfume that Lubin had made for her.
